Video content is one of the best ways of marketing your business to the world. In our heads the full stop at the end of that sentence is very absolute; video has this brilliant tendency of getting you hooked and interested and curious and entertained all at the same time. It’s brilliant (though we would say that.)

That being said, generating business from video content can often be a tricky thing; videos must fit in seamlessly with a marketing campaign and (as is the way with marketing) everything in that campaign has to work well together for any individual part of it to really shine.

All is certainly not lost though, as there are ways of helping your marketing along with this; whether you’re a seasoned marketer cracking on with your job or someone just staring down the digital wilderness, we’ve put together a video guide to try and help you identify all of the uses that your video content can have.

A great video opens up discussion about your company, but a vital aspect of how effective it can be is how it’s used to bring you more business. So let’s talk about the various simple and free methods, along with paid options to maximize the impact of your video.

First and foremost you will want to place the video on your website. The simplest method is to upload it to YouTube and embed it into your website. YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, with over 3 billion searches a month, so placing your video on it and tagging as many relevant keywords and adding a link to your website in the description can increase your Search Engine Optimization in a big way.

On your company’s site however, the best page to embed the video or place a link to it is on your home page, with a play button to make it immediately visible to viewers.

A well produced and well placed video doubles the amount of time visitors will spend on your website, thus increasing retention and conversion rates for potential clients, so it’s best not to hide it away in a forgotten corner.

Once the video is on YouTube, you can easily share it to your company’s Facebook and Twitter feeds, and even add it to your LinkedIn profile.

Showing the video on your iPad, Tablet or Laptop is a great conversation point in meetings, presentations or networking events and displaying it on a HD TV at exhibitions and seminars can give your stand or talk a real buzz.

Having copies of other BNI members’ videos is also a great way of showing off what your colleagues can do, and makes it easier to pass more referrals.

If you don’t have a tablet, your video can easily be incorporated into a power-point presentation or carried with you on a USB stick.

All of these methods so far are low cost or free, however you can reach a larger audience with paid methods of marketing. The key to making these effective and in budget is to know your target market- ensuring the right kind of video is shown to the right kind of people.

You could promote your video on Google Adwords which shows your video specifically to people who might be interested in your product or service, even turning it into an advert on YouTube using pay per click. There are so many options here to suit different budgets ranging from small focused adverts to large, international campaigns.

It’s even possible to send it to local TV stations or trade publications for your sector to build a real buzz around your business and it’s services.

You could even display it on digital signs or video billboards scattered all over city centers such as London, Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpool.

There are even video brochures; small screens embedded in leaflets that play your video when opened. These are often rechargable, reusable and these days more affordable while complimenting your print media in a very modern way.

Or if you want to go with a more personal approach, hard code your video to a branded USB stick and give it to your potential customers.

There are more ways to show your video content off to the world than ever before, many of them with little or no cost attached. Of course, if you want any help or tips of how to explore these, just get in touch and we can help you decide how best to use your video.
